La Coche Pelton hydroelectric plant

At the entrance to Tarentaise in Savoie, EDF is leading one of the largest hydroelectricity development projects in France with the extension of the La Coche production plant.

ADC won the study/supply/assembly/commissioning contract for heavy lifting equipment for new buildings: 14 devices (overhead cranes, suspended overhead girders, monorails), including the largest overhead crane (in tonnage) ever built by ADC , a 2 x 200 t / 40 t / 2 x 10 t overhead crane, span 18.10 m!

Added to the high tonnage was the difficulty of manufacturing the bridge according to the extremely restrictive EDF specifications (RRCMH: Rules for the Production and Control of Hydraulic Equipment, usually applied to penstocks and valves).

The tests were successfully carried out with a load of 500t (1.25 times the nominal load).

Working upstream of the project, Franki Fondation (Fayat Group) created the foundations of the future power plant with nearly 200 cased piles up to 28 meters deep.
