Preventive maintenance
Maintenance carried out at predetermined intervals or according to prescribed criteria and intended to reduce the probability of failure or degradation of the functioning of an asset (conditional/forecast/systematic).
Corrective maintenance
Maintenance carried out after detection of a breakdown or failure and intended to restore an asset to a state in which it can perform a required function.
