ADC, a century of ambition

100 years is worth celebrating !

OCTOBER 2019: ADC AT 100 YEARS...

A century ago, Maurice Bernard, founder of the company, started his locksmithing and tinsmithing business in a small room behind Parthenay station: Atelier de la Chaînette was born.

The company then continued to develop and diversify its activities: artistic ironwork, metal framing, mechanics then lifting-handling: it became the Ateliers de la Chaînette.

Now called ADC and having joined the FAYAT group in 1985, the company is today the only French designer-builder of standard hoists.
The breadth of its range and its expertise in special equipment allow it to present itself as a major player in lifting, and thus to be able to meet the needs of the national industry while being present in numerous foreign markets.

...And 100 years is worth celebrating!

ADC and its teams celebrated the company's centenary with dignity by coming together for several events including an open day for customers, suppliers and partners, which was joined by group employees and institutions, under the patronage of Jean-Claude FAYAT, President of the Group. Some 200 guests attended.

The next day was organized a day dedicated to active, retired and "ex-Chaînette" employees, with giant wooden games for children (young and old), friendly meal and show by the "Sound Recyclers", two artists making musical instruments with all kinds of recycled objects, including some gleaned from our workshops.

This day allowed 400 employees - former and current - to meet or get together to discuss in a relaxed and festive atmosphere.

Unable to accommodate everyone over these two days and in view of the deep roots of the company in the Parthenaisian territory and more broadly in Gâtinais, we have created a retrospective exhibition "Les Ateliers de la Chaînette: a century of Ambition, Men of Talent" in the town center of Parthenay, more precisely at the Cordeliers chapel, which we opened to the general public on Saturday October 12 and Sunday October 13.

Given the great success of these two afternoons, we have, with the agreement and support of all the partners involved, extended it for a week, opening for an evening and two additional afternoons.

We welcomed nearly 750 people over four half-days and two evenings, including the opening.

It was a very nice place for meetings and exchanges, where everyone was able to meet up with former colleagues, bring their family, learn about the very rich history of the company and its founders, or simply contemplate superb old photographs. . Some were even surprised to see themselves at their workstation in the 60s, or sometimes even before!
