Adc develops an ultra-secure hoist

This “SECURE” hoist concept is intended for customers working on dangerous production processes requiring maximum safety.

ADC DEVELOPS AN ULTRA-SAFE HOIST FOR HEAVY AND CRITICAL INDUSTRIES (METALLURGY, NUCLEAR, etc.)

ADC inaugurates its new test tower by launching the testing phase of its SECURE hoist. These two projects are linked and result from a research project within the framework of a FUI (Unique Interministerial Fund) between ADC / FOC TRANSMISSION / SEIREL / INSA BOURGE / ENISE which aims to offer a generation of safer winches on the market on a “standardized” concept.

AUTOMAT

Built to carry out the tests, this tower has a lifting capacity of 80t in service and 120t statically, the height on the rail is 15m and the 1t jib used to hoist the hoists to be tested peaks at 18m. The tower is equipped with a remotely controllable automaton and on-board cameras to constantly monitor the status of the prototypes. In the future it will allow us to test our future developments with a view to optimizing our standard designs.

INNOVATION

On the SECURE winch side, the major innovation is hidden in the rotating hub brake which operates with the clamps closed on the safety disc. In the event of a break in the driveline, braking is therefore instantaneous. The SECURE winch integrates this new brake in addition to a redundant reeving based on the reeving of our TJ hoist and a torque limiter at the engine output. The level of safety is significantly higher than standard winches currently available on the market and will allow ADC, JOSEPH PARIS and COMETE (sister companies of the Equipment and Services division of the FAYAT Metal Division) to respond to specific and demanding requests.
